HISTORY & ARCHITECTURAL CONTEXT
The provincial culture directorate dates the channel to the Late Hellenistic–Early Roman period. Rock cutting, tunnels and built sections adapted the watercourse to the terrain. Its position at the foot of Mount Ferhat links it with the folk tale of Ferhat and Şirin. The legend is distinct from its archaeological dating.
