4 visitor tips

Archaeological Site of Troy

Transport is needed for roughly 30 km from the centre; carry water and stay on the marked route.

Do not confuse the film horse on the city waterfront with this archaeological site.

Troy Museum

Do not look for this museum at the former archaeology museum address in town; arrange transport to Tevfikiye.

Allow breaks between floors rather than treating the visit as a quick stop in one room.

Kilitbahir Castle Museum

Confirm ferry times and castle admission beforehand; the stepped inner tower may not suit everyone.

Check the return sailing before beginning a longer visit after the crossing.

Çanakkale Martyrs’ Memorial

A vehicle is needed for roughly 30–35 km by road from Kilitbahir; check ceremony and access arrangements ahead.

Keep quiet in the remembrance grounds and follow marked paths between the graves.
