4 visitor tips

Choose an Ephesus entrance

The lower and upper gates are separate. Arrange onward transport before choosing a one-way visit.

Ask about the separate admission conditions for the Terrace Houses.

Link the central stops on foot

The museum and Ayasuluk can be linked by short walks; allow time for slopes and steps near the basilica.

An interior mosque visit depends on prayer arrangements.

A separate ride to Şirince

Do not treat the village as an extension of the Ephesus walk. The winding road and return wait need their own time in a full day.

Agree on the return before reaching the village.

Spend the evening in town

The evening walk takes in the mosque exterior and aqueduct by the station; it does not require entry to a museum.

Stay on well-lit streets.

Through the day
  1. 09:00 · Morning in Ephesus · Ancient Ephesus

This is a substantial exposed walk; allow breaks and wear shoes with good grip.

  2. 11:15 · Domestic details · Terrace Houses

Do not assume the main site ticket covers this entrance; check separate admission and the stepped visitor route.

  3. 15:15 · Village lanes · Şirince

Include this in a full day only; expect steps and sloping stone lanes within the village.

  4. 17:45 · Back in town · Byzantine Aqueduct

This is a street-level visit; do not climb the piers or obstruct station access.
