HISTORY & ARCHITECTURAL CONTEXT
Kaymakamlar House is an important example of traditional domestic life. The Ministry acquired and restored it in 1979, opening it as an educational centre in 1981. It offers a chance to connect the timber façade seen outside with the layout within.
Why visit
A chance to look beyond the façades of the market quarter. Rooms and timber details help explain how these houses were shaped by daily life.
VISITOR TIP — WHAT NOT TO MISS
Pay special attention to the revolving Wooden service hatch (dönme dolap) and divan layout on the upper floor.
