It is about 99 km by road from Trabzon via Çaykara. Do not squeeze it into the same short day as Sümela; allow a separate full-day trip.
HISTORY & ARCHITECTURAL CONTEXT
Uzungöl formed when a landslide blocked the Haldizen stream between forested slopes. The settlement, mosque and walking paths cluster around the lake. Higher ground reveals its elongated shape and the valley’s narrow floor.
