HISTORY & ARCHITECTURAL CONTEXT

Xanthos, a major Lycian city, forms a UNESCO World Heritage property with Letoon. The Harpy Monument beside the Roman theatre and the tall tomb pillars illustrate Lycian monumental burial traditions. The original Harpy reliefs are in London; the monument’s setting remains legible among the ruins.
