Kars Archaeological & Ethnographic Museum
The museum in the İstasyon quarter that keeps Ani finds, coins, jars, and animal-shaped tombstones together.
The first display was set up in 1959 for finds from Ani and the Silk Road, and the present building opened in 1981. The archaeology hall runs from the Palaeolithic to the Ottoman period, with metalwork, stone, coins, jars, and dinosaur bones. Ethnography shows carpets, silver belts, manuscripts, and kitchen utensils from the 18th century into the early 20th. The garden keeps ram-shaped and other animal tombstones of the Aq Qoyunlu, Qara Qoyunlu, Armenian, and Georgian periods. The address is İstasyon Mahallesi, Cumhuriyet Caddesi No 315.
